Dear friends in Christ,
Greetings in His name.
It is our pleasure to highlight the missionary activities of our Diocesan Missionary Prayer Band.
In response to the Great commission of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature" (MK 16:15), the DMPB is serving the Lord for the past 40 years in some of the unreached areas of our land. It is rendering fruitful services to the under-previleged and down trodden tribals of the hilly regions and the most backward areas of Tamil Nadu and other parts of India.

We see two responses when the construction work started. One group rejoiced and another group set out to discourage the people and make them afraid to go on building. We also meet the same responses-positive and negative- to any good work which is undertaken. While being critical of those who might oppose good work, we must probe into our thought level to find out if we also resist good works in order to promote our personal benefit. Due to envy of others’ achievements, reluctance to give up one’s stand and other factors, good work gets stunted. |

Prayer: God, we thank you for many good works that are undertaken. Help us to encourage such works to glorify your name. |

The Diocesan Missionary Prayer Band provides us the opportunities to serve the Lord by involving in its various missionary activities such as preaching the Gospel, educating the uneducated by building up schools and hostels for the poor , raising funds , conducting prayer groups and doing promotional work. We request you and appeal to you as children of God to come forward and serve the Lord by your involvements and participation in our prayer band and be blessed by Him spritually and physically. |

In John 21 we read about an important commission given to Peter. After the death of Jesus, Peter goes back to his former profession. Peter, who once straightway left his net to follow Jesus, goes back to fishing. But he could not find any catch and had to be guided by the risen Lord, who did not need their fish to cook a delicious meal for them.
