Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, ……-Genesis 49:25

From the desk of the Bishop, C S I Kanyakumari Diocese

Dear friends in Christ,
Greetings in His name.

It is our pleasure to highlight the missionary activities of our Diocesan Missionary Prayer Band.  In response to the Great commission of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature" (MK 16:15), the DMPB is serving the Lord for the past 40 years in some of the unreached areas of our land. It is rendering fruitful services to the under-previleged and down trodden tribals of the hilly regions and the most backward areas of Tamil Nadu and other parts of India

Our Missionaries are staying with these people, providing health care by establishing hospitals and other health centres.  We are providing literacy to the adults and also we have been providing education to the children in our Nursery, Primary, High and Higher Secondary Schools.  A few hostels are also established for the tribal children in these areas. The need for Technical Institutions to offer job oriented courses for these children is highly felt and we are praying and planning for the same.   We have already started some tailoring institutes for these poor tribal women.   Sunday worships and other special meetings are being conducted in these  areas.

We receive the needed financial assistance and prayer support from the members of our congregations.  Many committed young men and women have come forward to serve in these areas as missionaries, teachers, wardens, medical missionaries etc.  Still, there are many unreached villages around our mission fields and the needs to these neglected people are many fold.  We request the earnest prayers of the well wishers for these ventures and seek participation, both physically and financially, as the Lord leads you.

With kind regards and prayers,

The BISHOP

Kanyakumari Diocese (CSI)
