Two characteristics of Abraham are worth mentioning.
His implicit obedience to God when he was asked to leave his country. He did not hesitate to go into the unfamiliar land because he trusted God.
His generosity in allowing Lot to choose first the land of his choice [13:8]

Task : Are we willing to let go things with which we have been familiar for a long time? Do we always choose the best for us or do we consider other's needs also? If you were in Abraham's place what would you have done? Do you approve of Lot's choice?
