Have we ever tried a shortcut?

Genesis Chapters 16 and 17

God promised a child to Abraham but instead of waiting for the fulfillment of the promise patiently, the couple sought a shortcut. This was not within the framework of God's plan for the old couple. So they experience a lot of problems. Here Abraham and Sarah try to extricate themselves from the situation. Sarah puts the blame on Abraham [16:5] 'you are responsible for the wrong I am suffering'. This is one reaction to a difficult situation. We blame others. Abraham does not care to find a better solution but he asks Sarah to do whatever she thinks the best. This is another response to a difficult situation. You handle it. Leave me alone attitude. We see another response in Hagar. She is running away from the situation and at least owns that she is fleeing. She is the victim in this situation and we see that God is always with the oppressed.

Task : Have we ever tried a shortcut? Have we ever tried to run away from a situation? Recall some situations when you were the oppressor or oppressed?
